As a former Navy wife, this is the riveting story of my stumbling on military and Congressional cover ups as I struggled to find what was taking down my family and neighbors in NAS Oceana Wherry Navy Housing, in Virginia Beach, VA. The cover ups centered on the Navy and Congress's involement in slyly aquiring fighter F/18 figher jets that had been slated for MCAS Cherry Point, and missiles shallowly buried beneath the surface of our homes and yards, among the dumpsites containing leftovers from different wars, and their fight to keep my quiet about what I was discovering.
Investigating these things as I fought to get Wherry Housing torn down, sent me on a roller coaster ride that stung with hair raising, blood pressure elevating events as I had to take a stand against my beloved Navy and It's Powers That Be.
I ran the gauntlet of intimidation tactics as I discovered what they never intended anyone to know...

Inspires to question how many would fight for so long through so many obstacles in order to expose what Kathy has felt was unspeakable travesty.While this does not define Kathy's entire life which is filled with many other adventures it certainly does encompass who she is. Passionate, truth seeker and at times bigger then life.

The sad thing is that even after the equivalent of 400 pages of copy the surface has only been scratched with this story, and it only gets worse. But if you want to know the real story behind the military, behind ambitious officers concerned only with their own advancement, with local business-controlled politicians concerned only with their own careers and wallets, with a circle of leaders both civic and military who exploit naive patriotic young service men and women while caring nothing whatsoever about their safety or well-being ... about fighter jets which routinely dump thousands of gallons of toxic fuel on the surrounding neighborhoods and the people living there without warning, which crash into apartment complexes, and which politicians worship not for the ability to protect the nation but for the revenue which they bring ... and of a hopelessly foolish public which trusts these revolting people ... no one book could tell the entire story of the corruption and greed involved, but this one is a great start.
